Keynote Speakers

1.Prof. Dr. Mufti Mahmud (Nottingham Trent University, UK)

MUFTI MAHMUD (Senior Member, IEEE) received a PhD degree in information engineering from the University of Padova, Italy, in 2011. He is currently serving as an Associate Professor of Computer Science with Nottingham Trent University, UK. He is a recipient of the Vice-Chancellors outstanding research award 2020 at the NTU and he was also a recipient of the Marie-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2013. With over 18 years of experience in the industry and academia in India, Bangladesh, Italy, Belgium, and the UK, Dr Mahmud is an expert in computational intelligence, applied data analysis, and big data technologies with a keen focus on healthcare applications. He has published over 140 peer-reviewed articles and papers in leading journals and conferences. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and ACM, a Professional Member of the British Computer Society, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, the U.K. During the year 2020-2021, he has been serving as the Vice-Chair of the Intelligent System Application and Brain Informatics Technical Committees of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS), a member of the IEEE CIS Task Force on Intelligence Systems for Health, an advisor of the IEEE R8 Humanitarian Activities Subcommittee, the Publications Chair of the IEEE UK and Ireland Industry Applications Chapter, and the Project Liaison Officer of the IEEE UK and Ireland SIGHT Committee. He has also served as the coordinating chair of the local organization of the IEEE-WCCI2020; the General Chair of BI2020, 2021 and AII2021; and the Program Chair of IEEE-CICARE2020 and 2021. He serves as a Section Editor (Big Data Analytics) for the Cognitive Computation journal, an associate editor of the Frontiers in Neuroscience, and Big Data Analytics journals, and a Regional Editor (Europe) for the Brain Informatics journal.

2. Prof. Dr. Tapan Kumar Gandhi (Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi)

Dr Tapan K Gandhi is currently working as Associate Professor in the Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Cadence Chair Professor of AI and Automation,  Joint Faculty in School of AI, IIT Delhi and adjunct faculty in the school of AI and data science, IIT Jodhpur. He is also research affiliate to MIT, USA. He received his Ph.D. fellowship from (MIT, USA) and obtained his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from IIT Delhi.

Following his Ph.D., he has spent couple of years as postdoctoral research scientist at MIT, USA. Dr Gandhi was also awarded an INSPIRE Faculty in the engineering & technology category of the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. During this 5 years tenure, he is awarded as the excellent INSPIRE Faculty by DST, Govt. of India. His research expertise spans from Computational Neuroscience, Brain imaging, Assistive Technology, Bio-medical Instrumentation, machine learning, Cognitive Computing to Artificial intelligence.

He has published papers in top ranking journals like NaturePNAS, Current Biology, PloS Biology, IEEE Transactions. He has more than 200 publications in International journals and conference proceedings. He is PI & Co-PI of many big projects from Industry as well as Govt. of India organizations.

He has received many awards in India (including one from Ex-President of India, Dr Kalam) and abroad for his academic excellence and groundbreaking research. His research work is not only published in top-notch journals but also appeared in many popular presses including TIME magazine, the Boston Globe, the New York Times, MIT News, Harvard News, Wall street Journal and also in the SCIENCE Magazine. Dr Gandhi’s work was selected as cover page in Science Magazine in 2015. He has delivered many invited talks in National and International Universities like MGH, Harvard University, Yale University, MIT, Copenhagen University, University of Groningen.

He has four patents and three technologies transfer to Ministry of Social Justice, Govt. of India. He is serving as expert member (Task Force) in  various research committees in Govt. of India, UNESCO as well as reviewers in many journals like Nature, PNAS, IEEE, Elsevier, and Springer etc. He has also received Platinum Jubilee YOUNG SCIENTIST award 2015 by National Academy of Science in INDIA and GYTI 2019 Award. He is elected Fellow of National Academy of Engineering (FNAE).  Presently he is the Chairperson of Project Prakash charitable Trust, that helps in Restoration of Vision  and providing education to visually impaireds in India.

 

3. Dr. Ashish Mani (Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, Noida)

Dr. Ashish Mani is currently serving as Professor and Head, Startups in Amity Innovation and Design Centre, and Electrical Engineering, Amity School of Engineering & Technology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida. He is also Visiting Professor in School of Artificial Intelligence in Chongqing University of Education, China. He is holding the position of Chief Technology Officer in Chief Technology Officer, D-Risk TECHNOLOGY PTE. LTD, Singapore since September 2020, which is currently participating in Huawei backed Spark Incubator since October, 2022. He graduated from National Institute of Technology (N.I.T.), Durgapur in 1997. He pursued his M.Tech in Engineering Systems and Ph.D. in the area of Quantum Computing, Department of Electrical Engineering from Faculty of Engineering, Dayalbagh Educational Institute (Deemed University), which is accredited in Grade ‘A+’ by NAAC, India. He has more than Twenty-One Years of Research and Teaching experience and about four years of Industry experience. He has worked with Dayalbagh Educational Institute (Deemed University), M/s Dar-Al-Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and M/s Technip KT India Ltd., a subsidiary of M/s Technip S. A., a French Multinational. He has more than Ninety publications in International and National journals and peer-reviewed Conference Proceedings. He is co-Editor of two books, one published by Springer entitled Hybrid Intelligence for Social Networks and the other one published by De Gruyter entitled Quantum Machine Learning in 2020. He has also filed twelve Patents. He has successfully completed two research projects funded by UGC and DST worth more than INR 5 million and is currently involved in ICMR funded project worth INR 4.8 million. He has been part of M/s Entrepreneur Firsts’ 5th Cohort in Singapore from January to May 2019. Entrepreneur First is an international Talent Investor, which supports individuals to build deep-tech companies. He has also won First Prize in Hackathon conducted during Creative Destruction Lab – Quantum Stream Bootcamp-2021. Creative Destruction Lab is part of Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, Canada. He has delivered talks at Center for Excellence in Computational Intelligence and Application, Birmingham University, UK, Department of Computer Science, Christian-Albrechts University, Kiel, Germany, Centre for Theoretical Physics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Department of Computer Science, Bowie State University, Maryland, USA. He has received funding from Department of Science and Technology under International Travel Support Scheme for attending conference in USA. He is keenly interested in Interdisciplinary Research & Development and has experience spanning fields of Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, and Information Technology.

4. Dr. Hema Banati (Dayal Singh College, Uttar Pradesh, Noida)

Prof Hema Banati , Professor , Department of Computer Science , Dyal Singh College is an avid researcher in the field of Nature Inspired computing and Social networks. She attained her doctorate in the domain of Human Computer Interaction from University of Delhi, Department of Computer Science. Prof Banati is continuing the walk on the path of research with her Ph.D students., many of whom have successfully completed their Ph.D under her mentorship. She has nearly three decades of teaching experience to undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D students. Prof Banati is on the editorial board of international journal, was a member of Research board and Departmental Research committee at University of Delhi, has organized many special sessions in conferences and is in the program committee of various conferences of repute. She handles key role in various advisory committees, selection committees for prominent organizations. A staunch believer of interactive learning, Dr Banati has addressed diverse audience as a keynote speaker in various organizations of repute. With many national and international research publications to her credit, contribution to school text books , she is also the chief editor of two books published by reputed international publishers .

5.Dr. Tapas Si (University of Engineering & Management, Jaipur, Rajasthan)

Dr. Tapas Si holds B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University (formerly West Bengal University of Technology), M.Tech in Information Technology from National Institute of Technology Durgapur, WB, India, and Ph.D in Engineering from the same university. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Engineering & Management, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. He has published 73 papers in reputed international journals/conferences. He serves as a reviewer for journal of Springer, Elsevier, IEEE, etc. His research interests include machine learning, swarm intelligence, medical image processing, and medical data mining. He is listed in Who’s Who in the World® 2016, Marquis Who’s Who, USA.   He is a member of IEEE, Institute of Engineers (India), Soft Computing Research Society, and Machine Intelligence Research Labs (USA).

6.Dr. Bijay Ketan Panigrahi (IIT, New Delhi)

Dr Bijaya Ketan Panigrahi is presently working as a professor in the Electrical Engineering Department and head of Centre for Automotive Research and Tribology (CART), IIT Delhi, India. Prior to joining IIT Delhi in 2005, he has served as a faculty in Electrical Engineering Department, UCE Burla, Sambalpur, Odisha, India from 1992 to 2005. His research interest includes application of AI and ML techniques to power system planning, operation, control, protection, security and management. His research also focuses on various domain of Smart Grid and Micro grid.  Professor Panigrahi is also looking extensively on the issues of EV charging infrastructures and the impact of fast charging infrastructure on the grid, Battery management system, Battery pack design and Battery swapping stations. He has served as the editorial board member / associate editor/ special issue guest editor of different international journals published by IEEE, IET, Elsevier, Springer etc. He is also associated with various international and national conferences in various capacity. Dr Panigrahi has published more than 700 research papers in various international and national journals and conference proceedings. He is a fellow of INAE, NASI, AAAI and Senior member of IEEE.
